The newest arrangements now available are one of my all time favourite songs: “The Final Countdown” by Europe.
I had actually started working on an organ arrangement of this as a teen… I was transcribing it all by ear, and had set up registrations. I went away to a camp, and came back to find that my sister had deleted all my registrations! Somewhat defeated at the thought of setting it all up again, I shelved the project.
A year or so ago I purchased a big bundle from Narf Sounds, with the intention of using those registrations for Park Jam wherever possible, and “The Final Countdown” was one of the songs included. So writing an arrangement of “The Final Countdown” for my own enjoyment was added back onto the list!
Having moved my arrangement over to Musicnotes, and with this particular piece having such a long introduction, I’ve decided to provide slightly different options for this to what I’ve done with my Park Jam pieces. Currently available are:
- the usual keyboard + vocal score with chord symbols (my preferred option) – a 7 page PDF!
- just the keyboard score, which brings it down to 4 pages
- a lead sheet / fake book which combines the lead vocals and main keyboard riff (3 pages)
I had prepared the usual lead sheet / fake book of the vocal line plus chords, but the first page is almost entirely just chords. So I haven’t published that one, as I’m not sure if it would be of use or not, but that’s something I’ve open to feedback on! I could also make a bundle of the piano / vocal / guitar version plus the separate parts – both the vocal lead sheet and stand alone keyboard part added as additional pages as well.
Since Musicnotes has a different system of how they handle previews, I’ve left off the cover sheet from these pieces. I’ve also been able to lower the price of the arrangements as Musicnotes has a significantly lower minimum price.
